Preparing to be wrapped

I'm still blown away. We went to the doctor for the ultrasound today and the tech told us it was a girl, we were in shock. I am beyond excited but still in shock, I don't think this has really been processed fully by my brain yet. We had been praying for a girl but expecting a boy. My cousin Julie just gave birth to the first girl on my side of the family in 30 years. the male determines the gender, right? So my cousins husband made their girl. Out of the 12 cousins I have on my side of the family there are only two girls and only one of them was produced by a male blood relative. That's called overcoming the odds!
When we were pregnant with Ethan and found out we were having a boy that was a no brainer for me. I can handle a boy, I grew up with nothing but boys, all my friends and relatives had boys, I know how to be a crazy boy. A girl, well I'm still processing that.
This is going to be such a cool experience for me just learning how to deal with a girl. Luckily, I am blessed with a wife that can handle the girl stuff and walk me through it so I don't completely blow it. I've got some friends now with girls and they all tell me I'm doomed, there is nothing like the bond between a girl and her daddy, nothing like being wrapped around her finger. I only pray I can do a good enough job for her to want me wrapped around her finger forever. I can't wait for little Brennan to get here.
